Who I Am
Substance,
shown plainly.
I sell enterprise media and marketing for a living — a $3M+ territory across the enterprise IT and cybersecurity brands Dark Reading, InformationWeek, Network Computing, and ITPro. My buyers are marketing and business leaders at companies including Microsoft, AWS, Splunk, Rubrik, and Cloudflare. Day to day, that means being in the rooms where large, multi-stakeholder deals are won and lost — and knowing the quiet politics behind a headline number.
This site is where I keep the work, the résumé, and a running set of field notes on how the biggest names in tech really buy — written from my seat in San Francisco. No buzzwords, no theater. Just what I see, written down.
I got here the long way. Minnesota first: a communication degree from the College of Saint Benedict, then five years at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage managing loan pipelines in a heavily regulated business — where the discipline started. San Francisco in 2015. I joined UBM Tech in 2016 directing sales operations for Black Hat and GDC, earned a revenue-carrying seat, and I’ve grown the same portfolio of big-tech accounts ever since — through two mergers and eight consecutive years of quota ownership.
- Substance over swagger
- The work speaks. I’d rather show the receipts than perform the role.
- Plain language
- If a deal can’t be explained simply, it isn’t understood yet.
- Long games
- Trust compounds. I sell — and write — for the relationship after the signature.
